I've created a poll on my blog (located at the upper right corner) and I ask readers to cast their votes by completing the following statement:
Sexuality/Sexual Orientation is a product of...
a. nature alone.
b. nurture alone.
c. both, but more of nature.
d. both, but more of nurture.
Please vote, and for discussion, you may post a comment here or email me at yourgayness@gmail.com. Thanks a lot!

i think, both. =)
though scientific studies have determined some genes responsible for gay-ness, the role of nurturance/environment still could not be dismissed.
thanks, ruff. i think so too, with nature playing a bigger part. =)
as for my case, i am natural, inborn,.. but the more i observed people around, nurture is playing quite a role--preferences as they may call it.
but preferences is also an experience, if its too convincing (i.e. traumatic) it can be registered and embeded in the genes..sort of silent unconscious memory to be passed to the offspring. im taking advantage of darwinian evolution.
pero it's all nothing but labels.
it's an ongoing debate, but really, who cares? enjoy life!
i also think its both.. but leaning on nurture..
kasi ako, i was a cutie pag bata ko.
kaya para akong libro. daming magborow sa akin. usually mga girls.. mga aunts, ninangs and stuff..
kaya yun.. plus my dad was'nt around. kc nasa sa saudi. soo nurture.
@_davenport_
thanks for the insight. just wanna see how guys like us perceive sexuality.
@southdude
yeah it's still an ongoing debate, and there seems to be no right or wrong answer. most of us might not care as to what is the main reason for being gay, but i think this debate can help guys like us to find ways to defend our sexuality when we are frowned upon by society, especially by those who we expect to accept us no matter what.
@southdude, continued...
...we have different experiences and therefore different interpretations as to which of nature and nurture has done a greater part in influencing our sexuality. being informed of the arguments raised for one or the other can help us in dealing with questions that will be hurled upon us by those who can't accept us. :)
@chase
i see, so for you nurture plays a bigger role. as i've said to southdude, we all have different experiences. :)
thanks for the comments. keep 'em coming! :)
For me, I think it's both. But more than that, I believe with the world we live in today, it can be a choice. Just my two cents worth.
both with more of nurture! you can look upon sexual imprinting, peer pressure, autism caused by deficiency in nutrients or presence of nutrients (which is parallel to homosexuality being caused by deficiency or presence of certain things during pregnancy or growth).
thanks, nm and homosapien.
